Lorde Net Worth 2024

It’s hard to believe a 17 year old girl from New Zealand could write a song garnering the highest airplay on American Hip Hop radio stations. In 2013 Lorde became the first New Zealand solo artist to have a number one on the Billboard Charts with her debut single Royals. The single has been downloaded over 3 million times in America alone. She also earned major bucks from a deal with Sony Music worth $2.5 million. The song is a definite contender for the 2014 Grammy Awards. Lorde says the song was inspired by a photo of a baseball player signing autographs with ‘Royals’ on his jersey.  The song has made Lorde an international princess. Her debut album Pure Heroine is on it’s way to being Gold in the states with an overwhelmingly positive response from listeners and music critics. Billboard gave it a 94 out of possible 100 rating stating

“Pure Heroine delivers on the promise of Lorde’s Top 10 hit “Royals and then some.”

Lorde was born Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O’Connor in Auckland.  Lorde is a major history buff and has a fascination with the aristocracy of the 1400’s and 1500’s.
